Hello dear reader. I'm glad to be back. Luckily, I survived my last... ordeal... with the shadows, and am now safe in a shadowy basement somewhere in Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, that is all I can say. Don't want to give away my location any quicker than necessary.

So, I promised more information. And I always fulfill my promises.

There are a set of creatures that run the world. Called Shadowbeings. And they have successfully ensconced themselves in every aspect of modern society. They have unknown control of international corporations and government agencies. They don't belong to any nation. They are a global oligarchy unto themselves. The NSA has nothing on their sphere of influence.

I'm not sure how they came into existence. Humans as a species are much older than them, and I believe they first came into existence with the advent of human society. Unfortunately, they don't leave a corpse when they die and they try to stay in the dark of human society, so archeological evidence is lacking.

They are basically sentient, solid shadows. Sunlight damages, though rarely kills, them and they walk unseen at night. They have the ability to take the form of any human whose shadow they have touched. And there are a smattering of other powers they have, without really any order or classification. Some can heal, some can control the weather, some are telekinetic. And there are thousands, even tens of thousands of them, across the planet.

I have devoted my life to destroying them, for a personal matter that I will not mention now.

Anyway, the Shadowbeings can have children, called Shadowborn. And that is what I am. And we have powers too. I have to leave now, and continue my research. I will be back later.
